Our Mission
Through the development of a safe, nurturing environment,
we support each child in his or her quest for
academic achievements, positive interdependent relationships
and the skills necessary for a fulfilling life as a valued member of our society.
Our History
1989
White Oaks Montessori School opened its doors in September l989. At that time we consisted of one classroom at our Clarkson Campus – a morning class of 7 students. Our mission was to nurture children in their early development, to become physically, socially, emotionally, spiritually and academically ahead in all spectrums. Educating the Whole Child with skills they could use for the rest of their lives.
2000
As each year went by, our student and teacher populations grew. In 2000 the demand for more space encouraged us to open the Vanier Campus where we could grow our Elementary.
2001
In 2001 White Oaks applied and received Accreditation through the Canadian Council of Montessori Administrators. Every five years White Oaks goes through the one year process of Re-Accreditation.
2003
In 2003 a Toddler classroom was added to our Clarkson Campus and our Vanier Campus would host a March Break Camp in the Spring and a Summer Camp Programme during the summer months.
2018
2018 was another year of growth. A new classroom for our Upper Elementary in their own digs with the excitement of lockers. An additional Casa classroom at our Vanier Campus and a refurbished courtyard. At Clarkson we are so excited to have a bathroom installed in the Casa classroom.
We are now entering our 30th year of serving the Mississauga and Oakville Communities and, for the past three years in a row, received the Platinum Award from the Mississauga Community recognizing White Oaks as their Number 1 Best Private School in Mississauga.
White Oaks Montessori School has a name of distinction in Montessori and a reputation for excellence in the Mississauga, Etobicoke and Oakville Communities.
Today…
Our programmes currently include:
-
3 Toddler classrooms, 5 Primary Casa classrooms and 3 Elementary classrooms
-
Gymnasium, Computer Lab, Library, French, Music
White Oaks Montessori School opened its doors in September 1989. At that time we consisted of one classroom at our Clarkson Campus – a morning class of 7 students. The dream was to provide children with exceptional education, while also giving them skills that they could use for the rest of their lives.
As each year went by, our student and teacher population grew and we opened more classrooms, created an afternoon class and a full day class, as well as an Extended Care Programme.
Next came a shared desire with the encouragement and support of parents to spread ourselves again and include an Elementary Programme. After several years in a very cramped Elementary room, we were delighted to acquire and renovate an old farmhouse. In September 1997, we relocated our Elementary Programme and a Casa classroom to the White House Campus.
In September 2000, we expanded again and opened our Vanier Campus. These premises were completely altered and renovated, as well as the playground area. Vanier now houses a Toddler Programme which started in March 2001, 4 Casa classes, a Lower Elementary (Gr. 1-3) and an Upper Elementary (Gr. 4-6). In addition, we have a Computer Lab/French Room, a Library and a Gymnasium.
In 2003 we expanded our Elementary Science Programme at our Vanier campus and added a Toddler classroom to our Clarkson campus. Our Vanier campus also hosts a March Break Camp in the Spring and a Summer Camp Programme during the summer months.
In 2001 White Oaks Montessori School received the first ACCREDITATION in Mississauga through the Canadian Council of Montessori Administrators. In 2006 we received our 2nd RE-ACCREDITATION. We are now entering our 24th year of serving the Mississauga and Oakville communities and one of four schools in Mississauga to be accredited with the CCMA. We are very proud to have achieved this recognition in Canada and are very grateful to our administrative staff and our talented teachers who take pride in their work, and in so doing, have made White Oaks Montessori School a distinctive name in the world of Montessori. In order to be accredited, a Montessori school must pass through a process of evaluation established by CCMA. This process takes approximately one year to complete and all criteria must be met by the school.
White Oaks Montessori School has a reputation for excellence with a strong established name in the Mississauga, Etobicoke and Oakville Communities.
